Invisible Potato Surprise

Try this recipe that I threw together and the flavors totally surprised my palette. It was soooo good that I ate it before taking a snapshot. I'm sure this mix of foods have been put together for ages.....just not anywhere in kitchens of my life. I'm no reknowned chef but my discoveries can help some other newbie. My basic ingredients: 4-5 Potatoes (depending on # servings you want) 1 Onion (1/3 of it diced or sliced julienne style) 1/2 cup of Kielbasa 1 pinch of salt (optional)                Or 1 pinch of garlic salt or garlic powder                Or Heck, use whatever seasonings you like. I achieved satisfaction by doing a pinch of both. Yes, I know that salt is not your friend so be aware when you choose your flavors. As for myself, I tend to stay away from it. This dish is totalled distracting. To prepare: Cut potatoes into small c...

Mikki's Diner

It's a snowy Tuesday morning in January. I stopped by my homespace, Mikki's, house. I was anxiously anticipating my ceremonial breakfast. It has been a wonderful tradition for several years. Hey, my motto....why make breakfast yourself when someone else can make it. I'm just kidding. I'm being a wiseguy. Oh, and if you have a kindle fire, place that on the table to listen to some sweet jazz, like Brian Culbertson. Wow!

Baking 101

I am not an expert in baking but I can surely say that I am very pleased with the results. We used. Betty Crocker's Supermoist yellow cake mix, which called for 3 eggs, 1/2 cup of vegetable oil and one cup of water. Once done, we used Hershey's milk chocolate icing.      The purpose of making this cake was for a friend's birthday. So, working from scratch was not ideal since I wanted her to actually eat the cake. Besides, the fancy mixers and creams professionals use on tv was absent. The other reason was that it was a learning experience my son and myself. I was curious on how bakers made their cakes completely round. My cakes tend to come out bevel or lopsided. The mystery behind it was that they used a turning cake pedestal and I didn't. I did not have one and was well into the cake making process to stop then r...

Cat's Pasta dish

Just cook hamburg or ground pork, or ground turkey. At the same time boil pasta (any kind). Once both are cooked, drain and combine. Mix burg and pasta together with honey bbque sauce. You can add parmesan cheese if you like. Heck, you can add anything you like. Breaking the rules is accepted.
