Re-purposing Craft Project In The Office

Re-purposing Craft Project Done at Your Workstation
By Catherine Ratliff 1/8/15

I was gifted a new polka dot block Memo Cube (The MOE3 line) by Jackie Shapiro.

This item was purchased at Michaels crafting store. But, I’m betting you can find them almost anywhere. However, they may be manufactured by a

different company. Ultimately, they will have the same benefit. When you need a piece of paper to jot down an important note, it fits the bill.

This particular block memo cube comes in different colors. It has 600 pages that form a colorful polka dot design once all sheets are shrink-wrapped or pushed together. A beautiful bright red bow was tied around it with a pastel blue ribbon.

The first thing I did was detach the ribbon off the back of the memo cube.

Then, I took a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon off. The bow
was glued to the ribbon. I was careful not to cut the bow away from the ribbon.

Once the ribbon was separated from the ribbon, I tied the ribbon around the phone’s receiver. The receiver was placed on its back as I tied the flower to it. The flower was set so that when I hung up the phone it was displayed for all to see. I tied the ribbon in one knot. Of course, there was excess ribbon left to hang that protruded from behind the receiver once I hung it up. So, tying it into another knot and tucking it as clever as possible was my best option. I have really clumsy round fingertips. Whoaaaa! You can tie yours up as clever as you see fit so that it is not left to protrude once you hang up your receiver.

Now you can use the attached pin and start using your memo block. Write something interesting!!!

Voila! You are done. Easy as green peas.

It’s a cute sight for sore eyes. My first client to use it was impressed. Perhaps Cisco Systems will come out with its new floral design in the future for the women or pinstripe floral design for the men, too. :) Hey, I won't leave anyone out.

 It’s all in good fun.

PF Chang's

I ate out at PF Chang's with a friend this past weekend. The food was delicious. This restaurant is located in downtown Providence, Rhode Island in the mall complex. It is a perfect location for tourist when they visit. They are going to get really good business during the Waterfire Celebrations Providence hosts a few times a year. For those of you who don't know what Waterfire is....it is when art lovers or hopeless romantics from all over come through to watch the gondolas pass in the Providence River, visit local art museums and galleries, sit outside and dine at fine restaurants, etc. So since PF Chang's establishment arrived, I think it will add some extra cuisine to the already fabulous selections downtown. I grew to love PF Chang's for the first time when I visited Atlantic City, New Jersey. I went there many times when I lived in New Jersey and still frequent it now that I live in Rhode Island. I can't get enough of AC....

Rise and Shine

This was my breakfast this morning. I got tired of the traditional bagel or the two slices of white toast with peanut butter that seemed to become the norm. I was in the market early in the morning looking for a change; a new flavor to stimulate my palate and at the same time fill my body with essential vitamins and minerals. I'm not so ready to jump buildings in single bounds but this good choice of breakfast helped me tackle my eventful day. I will just leave the tall leaps and metal bending for Clark Kent (S-man).

Helping Out the Next Guy!

I won't provide any visuals on today's blog. I just wanted to keep it anonymous. I helped out a stranger today. I was amongst a group of able bodies who could have extended a hand but ignored the choice. It wasn't a major issue but I felt the need to act. I visited a government office today. It was a rainy day. Since the building was not yet open a line of rain-drenched people stood out in front, waiting feverishly to be let inside. I saw this line from afar as I parked my vehicle. My vehicle was warm and acted as a great shield from the rain. Most people had umbrellas or wore hoodied jackets. I guess they were as prepared for the rain than they will ever be. However, what caught my attention was a gentlemen hovering on the other side of the doors. He chose to cower on the other side of the building to avoid the wet wind that flowed from behind the backs of those who waited in line. He wore no jacket and he had no umbrella. At first, I almost mumbled to myself, "How...
