Pay it Forward

Two weekends ago a friend and I had coffee and pastries at the Au Bu Pain Cafe on Thayer Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Thayer Street is a quaint street located within the Brown University and caters to the college crowd and also visiting tourists from abroad (most here taking in sights since Providence is an artsy city). One other thing to recognize is that Thayer St is located near the RISD school, where some of the most talented pupils study and perfect the art of visual stimulation.
Moving on with my story. I was enjoying coffee and pastries with a friend. There was a homeless man staring through the glass from the alley side of the establishment. He was cold and appeared to be hungry. I was short on cash that day. My friend was low on cash as well. Once we were done eating we decided to buy him a pastry and a cup of coffee. My friend also gave him five dollars. He was very appreciative. We certainly felt good about it.

Hallo-Fam Time

By Catherine Ratliff Oct. 2017      Spent time with the family indoors this past Halloween 2017. It made for a really different experience. Words couldn't express the evening. Therefore, I will let the slideshow do the talking for us.      We put together some really nice snacks that turned our taste buds into a frenzy. We baked yellow cake with chocolate frosting. We added the word Halloween logo 🎃, on top in an orange delicious and harmonious glaze. I literally heard music to my ears. This earth-shattering cake was served with chocolate and vanilla ice cream.      We also made rice krispie treats. We added blow pops to sweeten up the dish. We were some real SWEET DEMONS that night.     Then I sat on the couch wearing a witch's hat and striped orange and black socks that extended up to the knees. We really created a witchy atmosphere.     It became a movie night. The movie selection was from my f...

My Cracker Jack

Hey, remember this wonderful snack? Cracker Jack . Wow. I remember when I was a kid. This snack came in a small rectangular shaped box. There was always a prize inside. Well, this bag says that you have a chance to win a diamond. All you have to do is open the bag. Needless to say, I wasn't a winner because if I was a winner, I would have started this blog off with (Whoopie!!). Well, my bag only contained a little insert with information on Susan B. Anthony. Okay. Nice. She was the nice lady on the front of golden dollars issued by the mint a few years back. I guess it will come in handy when my son does his next research report. So, to recap, I had a nice snack and learned something new at the same time.

Christmas Escapades

After my job's Christmas party, I traveled to Connecticut because I just needed to spend a little more time. So, my time was spent at Foxwoods casino. No, I know what you're thinking. I gambled and lost my shirt. On the contrary, I only spent around $15 dollars because I was there for the ride. My friend had some gambling credit and it made for a good time. It was a good picture taking moment. Besides, the holiday is upon us. What kind if mom would I be if I gambled the kids toys away. Lol. I'll just post some random holiday photos here to keep in the spirit.
